Quaintly nestled near the Odeon subway station in Metro Paris is this little hub of French cuisine. We took the opportunity of a 17-hour layover to 'go to town', so to speak, and had a delightful lunch literally sitting under the sun in what was essentially a winter afternoon. Le Compoir serves under the Hotel Relais Saint-Germain banner, a venue recommended by many. Our prayers were finally answered yesterday.
'A kid in a candy store' is the perfect description when one greedily scans the menu. All classics I would surmise and all so delicious sounding, in French, of course. We had a glorious meal outside, kept warm by hanging heaters, and the allure of people watching Parsisienne style. Rather than wasting your time with my amateurish words try this link http://m.yelp.com/biz/le-comptoir-du-relais-paris which you can feast visually on a parade of the best in traditional French cooking. Take a look at the Lamb Shank .. succulent, perfectly seasoned and cooked in its own jus, it was simply beyond words.
