SOUTH AMERICA CRUISE

This was taken at dawn from an Air France 777 on our way to Buenos Aires in Argentina, where we will board the Silver Spirit from the Silversea fleet for a 17-day cruise ... to Port Stanley on the Falkland Islands, to Ushuaia at the tip of Argentina, round the cape at the southern tip of the continent, to the Chilean fjords, to Punta Arenas along the Chilean coast, ending up in Valparaiso and Santiago.

The flight was long haul indeed, 12.5 hours to Paris on the first leg, followed by a 15-hour layover which we took advantage to see friends in the city, before boarding again for another 13 hours to Buenos Aires ... it was almost 50 hours 'door to door'.

By the way it was our virgin flight over the mid Atlantic which was a tad on the bumpy side. Since dropping our allegiance to CX we were once again surprised, this time by Air France, by their F&B service in particular. If you have the chance try their shower service at the airport lounges, complete with classy L'Occitane personal packs to foster a private, comfortable and refreshing experience.  We are just amazed as to how the world of flying opens up as more options become available such as Turkish Airline, Lufthansa and now, Air France.  The two words to best describe my years of one-way loyalty to CX are ... Juvenile Ignorance!
