OLD WORLD CHARM

With the new world racing ahead without the slightest regard for things of the past it is always nice when one is returned in a time capsule to the days of old world charm. The Alvear Palace Hotel offered exactly that at her majestic breakfast room, complete with art-deco everything. It is a fine way to start the day, when one luxuriates in freshly squeezed juices and baked breads of variety. The rooms here are significantly larger than the modern minimalist pigeon holes at the 5-6 stars nearby. Similarly appointed with embroidered thick curtains against painted white walls, there is no chrome, no stainless steel, no glass ... the feel, the comfort, the style are what delineates the old and new world. We loves it!
